Research

The Department of Computer Science is home to more than 30 research active faculty members. In FY 2017, annual research expenditures surpassed $3M while the new awards valued over $7M. Computer Science faculty serve as editors in some of the leading journals, and actively participate in the organization of over 90 international conferences every year. Three current faculty members received NSF CAREER awards. The areas of research emphasis include the cutting- edge efforts in visualization/visual analytics, robotics, networking, video and image processing, cloud and high-performance computing, cognitive computing and knowledge systems/discovery.
