I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science in the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  I received my doctorate in Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis under the direction of Professor Robert Pless.  At UNCC, I am a member of the Future Computing Lab, The Charlotte Visualization Center, and The Center for Biomedical Engineering Systems.

Research

My interests lie in the fields of computer vision and machine learning.  More precisely, I enjoy:

  • manifold learning (as it applies to images and videos),
  • medical image analysis, and
  • action recognition and human motion analysis.
